Initially drawn to this series by comparisons to 'Beautiful Monsters' and 'Captive Prince,' I found it to be less emotionally intense than anticipated. While I struggled to empathize with Eroan, the world-building and dynamics between dragons and elves were engaging. Overall, a solid read, but fell short of my expectations in terms of emotional depth.

Fantastic read. Caution, it does deal with some really dark stuff, but if that doesn't bother you, then this is well worth your time reading. A richly developed world, intriguing characters. I can't wait to read the next book.

“He wished he could have saved one. Just one. The impossible dragon who had guided Eroan out of the dark.”

This book is not for the light hearted and you should definitely read the warning before you start reading.

This book was absolutely amazing just like all of Ariana Nash’s books. I just ordered the other parts of the series and can’t wait for them to arrive.

This book was brutal but still so enjoyable to read. It was so good! The story was everything you can asked for as a fantasy nerd, dragon shifting people and elves. The characters was amazing and had depth, they felt so real and the character development good. I’ve learned from Ariana Nash’s books that she like to write complicated and angst characters and she is so good at it too. It’s amazing!

OMG !!!!! It was phenomenal !! Usually, I fancy series where each book tells the story of another character. But I was blown away by this one. I had seen a lot of recommendations for it and I wasn't sure would read it because it adds trigger warnings and is kind of dark. However, I‘m so happy I tried, it really wasn't what I thought it could be.
The plot is a roller coaster, with so much action, so many surprises !!

Eroan is an elve sent by the Order to kill the dragon queen, dragons have almost whipped out elves and humans when they took the world. However, he's stopped right before entering the queen’s chamber by her son Lysander, a fierce dragon who is considered broken and is kind of ostracised by his mother and brother. Eroan and Lysander both have to fight their survival in their own way.
And that's all I can say because it needs to be read and to be discovered !
