I wasn't super into the idea of reading about captain hook, but I read many good reviews and I was curious. I'm so glad I did! The writing was really good and although I caught most plot twists I did non see the last one coming. Obviously this isn't for everyone but the author was very upfront with the trigger warnings. Also, the smut was delicious!

It was honestly such a great read. Read it in one day and it was worth it.
I loved picking up the fairy tale references here and there and the ending was such a wholesome part of the story. Emily is my new fav storyteller ;)

Ho comprato il libro indotta dalle recensioni positive ma a differenza di quanto descritto non è nulla di speciale. Banale e superficiale piuttosto . Non si capisce per quale motivo lei faccia innamorare uno psicopatico e soprattutto come sia possibile che uno psicopatico si innamori. Bah ...

Terribile. Romanzetto infimo, senza trama e con dei personaggi ridicoli. Ma come fa ad avere delle recensioni così buone? Mi sembra una brutta copia di Cinquanta sfumature di grigio, col bel tenebroso psicopatico e la ragazzetta che gli si getta ai piedi e si sottomette felice a ogni genere di maltrattamento. Nessuna suspence, nessun crescendo, nessuna tensione, piatto piatto piatto. Ok, non si pretende l’introspezione psicologica ma anche una lettura leggera può essere scritta in modo gradevole. La descrizione delle scene di sesso fa poi onestamente quasi ridere, delle macchiette. Inoltre l’uso continuo e inutile di termini volgari mi ha infastidito non poco. Noioso, prevedibile e banale.

I'm quite disappointed with the heroine... my hope for Wendy was to become badass and help Hook (IF he hadn't been a d**k and assumed the worst the second something happened) or to run away and build a great life without those 2 horrible men (dad and Hook). He could have searched her for years and then spent some more to atone for the terrible way he treated her. It's not about being a bad guy (he is and it's ok) but he cannot treat her like garbage, threathen her and her brother and she sleeps with him as soon as she can! Have some dignity girl!

The writing within this book is binge worthy!
It’s dark, steamy, and unforgiving. At its core it’s a love story.

When I tell you I’ve never rooted so hard for a Villain 😅 Not sure when it happen Ed but apparently the more unhinged the MMC, the more I'm like "awe" especially when you realize why the MMC is morally black.

Ps. The spice is SPICY 🥵

Al principio (la primera mitad del libro) me costaba mucho leer por que estaba harta del hombre misterioso y malhumorado que enamora a la chica. Pero OMG los cambios de eventos y lo rápido que empieza todo a cambiar que de haberme tardado 6 días en la primera mitad, la segunda la leí en un día! Vale la pena mil veces.

eu amei tanto esse livro que não consigo nem expressar!

foi uma leitura rápida e diferente de todos os dark romances que eu já li. eu amei o james e a wendy. eles são tão opostos e a autora foi bastante fiel aos personagens, colocando referências e muito mais.

a wendy sendo meio sonsa, mas mostrando o seu valor no final (exatamente como nos filmes), o peter sendo o vilão (até quando senhor? estão destruindo a minha infância!!) e a tina como a representação da sininho, o que eu achei bastante interessante.

eu gostei bastante da história, trouxe algo diferente dos contos de fadas em livros, onde todos se resumem em a bela e a fera. pretendo ler o livro do scar e os seguintes, gostei bastante da escrita e espero ler mais livros da autora!

This was a really fast read for me since I had a day filled with reading and relaxing.
I did not expect the book to be so dark but I actually really liked it and was completely obsessed with the story.
It reads really easy and I just didn't want to put the book down.
I'm excited to read the rest of the books in this series!
