The Bourgeois Virtues: Ethics for an Age of Commerce
Are there flaws in McCloskey's amazingly courageous Bourgeois Virtues?

A lot of sweeping assertions with little to no evidence to support them
The Bourgeois Virtues has some strengths - interesting anecdotes and ruminations - but if someone's trying to convince me of something with practical import, I need evidence.

You need to read this
Considering you live in a capitalist state, and you are likely a member of the middle class, this is a book that you must read to get a better understanding of how the class you live came to be, and came to have the rules it has.

Interesting but needs editing
I wanted to make it through the whole book, and there is some good material there, but I couldn't do it.

Wonderful Book
I purchased \"The Bourgeois Virtues - Ethics for an Age of Commerce\" three years ago when it first came out after I had read a NY times book review about this wonderful treasure.

3.5-McCloskey wants to mix University of Chicago,Benthamite Utilitarian economics with Aristotle,Aquinas, and Smith-It won't work
McCloskeyis unable to operationalize her apparently recent realization that morality and economics can't be separated.
